Donations

Monetary

  • Community Threads is an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible.
  • Monetary donations are used to purchase supplies to create, package, and distribute items, and other operating expenses. All board members, fiber artists, and other team members volunteer their time and receive no compensation for their roles.
  • To donate by credit card, ACH, Google Pay, or Apple Pay, please visit our donation page.
  • Please send cash, check & gift card (Visa, Mastercard, Amazon, craft supply store) donations to:

Fiber Artist Supplies

  • Crochet hooks
  • Sewing needles, thread, machines, bobbins, etc.

New or Gently Used Clothing Items

  • Baby & children’s clothing: outerwear/ jackets only
  • Men’s, Women’s & gender-neutral clothing items: shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, skirts, outerwear, shoes.
  • Linens & bags: blankets (throw – twin bed), tote bags (used to distribute items)

Services & Discounts

  • Deliveries of collected or handcrafted items
  • Marketing/ Social Media Influencers welcome!
  • Legal consulting
  • Printing Services – cards, signs, etc.
  • Venues for events

Volunteer Opportunities

  • You do not need to sign up as a member to volunteer your time or donate items
  • If you are interested in volunteering, check out the Volunteer page for more information.

Membership & Fiber Artist Volunteering

  • No membership fees or requirements.
  • Inclusive & welcoming group.
  • Biweekly meetings (optional) – spend time stitching & socializing with other service-minded volunteers, pick up supplies for projects, turn in finished items or clothing donations, receive items to redistribute at arranged drop-off locations, and continue to foster our internal sense of community.
